"What does forever cost? Grow. Divide. Die. The normal life of a cell. A process that is embedded in the cells genes. But what happens if something goes wrong. Sometimes the genes responsible for this life cycle become damaged. This results in a process called Carcinogenesis; or uncontrolled cellular division. These cells will grow, these cells will divide, but these cells will not die. These cells will endlessly grow into masses called tumours. Perpetually permeating and consuming. These cells are cancer cells. In this short film, we explore this process in three acts three acts: Growth {Mitosis), Dysfunction (Carcinogenesis), and Death (Consumption). Culminating in the eventual overtaking of the host by an unrelenting force. As the blackness begins to overtake the screen, the soundtrack becomes reversed; a distorted version of it's original sound. The frequencies range from 24Hz to 666Hz and are in the range of the notes that make up the Dies Irae. A 13th century chant which gives feelings of unease to the listener. The blackness grows, grows, grows; enveloping the screen. The MIASMA has taken over it's host. And it’s cycle is still not complete. Because the life of death is never ending.
