While there is a great deal of work exploring what digitality means for the world, there is less work on what the world means for digitality. This project aims to explore that gap by examining the means by which tech companies, as economic actors, embody and assert the market’s politics and aesthetics through their products, further entrenching the market’s influence on human affairs. ‘Residuul’ is a short video and planned installation space that appropriates startup aesthetics to suggest a mirrored precarity between market forces and digitality.
