The Bodies in Play (BiP) Playshop Zine was created as part of the launch for the Bodies in Play: Inclusive Co-Creation in Wearable Technology and Extended Reality partnership between OCAD University and community arts organization DMG. BiP aims to scaffold meaningful equity in the creative technology space, through participatory, feminist research-creation in embodied interfaces. The zine is both the outcome of our opening “playshop,” and an instruction set for “how-to-playshop.” Its purpose is two-fold: to serve as a prompt for future speculative digital and non-digital prototyping work exploring feminist body-centric approaches to wearables and XR, and to offer a guide for others who wish to explore playful, inclusive lo-fi digital co-creation methods.
