Shatter, Before the Break, is an interactive video installation that uses a webcam to create a live, generative portrait. The viewer’s image appears on an old television and shifts as they move. What begins as a clear reflection slowly blurs, stretches, and drifts out of place. With more movement, the image breaks into scattered fragments until the face is no longer recognizable. Viewers can try to capture a still frame, though the image may fall apart before it can be saved.
