"Welcome to the Orchestra! Picture yourself as the maestro, the conductor of an ensemble unlike any other. Our installation brings three distinct opera singers to life: meet Maria, Juliette, and George. Each possesses their own unique charm and vocal prowess. Juliette and Maria, grace the stage with their powerful, polished voices. Their singing resonates with experience and expertise, captivating every listener. On the other hand, George, the spirited beginner, adds a touch of rawness with his enthusiastic but slightly off-key renditions. Together, they create an unparalleled symphony of sounds. These opera singers aren't just performers. They're interactive boxes waiting for your cue! When you step onto the crosses in front of them, the magic begins. Your location triggers their performances. As you move around, Maria, Juliette, and George take turns serenading you. This installation functions through a set of 3 standard servo motors that secured to 3D printed linear actuators. These actuators push the inner box down to mimic the motion of a jaw opening when singing. When the singing is complete, the linear actuator pulls the inner box back up to mimic the jaw closing. The location of the participant is detected through a webcam that is placed in front with the image of a conductor, such that the participant can feel like a conductor themselves. "
