Ignominious retreat

"Humanity’s efforts to counter the growing ecological crisis have increasingly relied on genetic technology, leading to the unchecked exploitation of both human and natural resources. Over time, this dominance has created an uncontrolled and chaotic space—an evolution of nature that feels unfamiliar, ambiguous, and fractured. Nature’s helplessness against human interference highlights the fragility of the natural world when faced with unrelenting manipulation. As I reflected on this, I began to see pigs as a powerful metaphor for political systems. Just as humans exert dominance over nature, pigs symbolize the mechanisms of control within politics—a cyclical dominance over humanity. No matter what people do, they remain trapped in an endless loop of subjugation, where the system prevails, and true liberation feels unattainable. This connection became more vivid when I encountered a National Geographic article discussing the creation of human organs in laboratories by fusing human and pig stem cells. This blending of species unsettled me deeply. It represents not only a scientific milestone but also a dangerous overreach with long-term consequences—a profound threat to humanity and the natural world alike. Through this work, I explore these interconnected themes of dominance, manipulation, and the loss of control. The imagery of pigs and humans blurs boundaries, symbolizing both the destructive cycle of politics and the ethical dilemmas of technological advancement, ultimately asking: What is the cost of this relentless quest for control?"
