Toronto Urban Legends is a transmedia project implementing 3 interconnected media platforms and technologies (print, web, and AR) to narrate the story of three iconic Toronto urban legend creatures: a museum ghost, a subway alien, and a Lake Ontario cryptid. The narrative adopts the perspective of a fictional urban legends enthusiast, who discovers mysterious creatures in the city and documents the sightings on their website and youtube channel, promoting the unique, non-mainstream, and site-specific urban cultural landscape. Currently, many existing urban legends are scattered across newspapers, blogs, and forums, therefore, this project also serves as an organized interactive archive of Toronto urban legends. Each urban legend entry is modular by design, allowing for future additions.
